Xiaomi flagship smartphone Mi Mix 2 to launch in India soon

Xiaomi flagship smartphone Mi Mix 2 to launch in India soon

За день до анонса iPhone 8 компания Xiaomi покажет два новых смартфона
The first Mi Mix didn't work with many US LTE networks, but the new model should. Xiaomi announced new phones this morning, but there is one that is going to steal all of the headlines.

The smartphone which basically is an iterative model to the Mi Note 2 contains a dual lens setup at the back and a 5.5-inch full HD display. It is not exactly a bezel-free display as most people would have imagined; however, Xiaomi insists that the screen size is quite large enough and the bezels are indeed much narrower on this phone.

The Mi Mix comes with MIUI 9, which is based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The 12-megapixel camera comes with an optically stabilized f/2.0 lens and has large pixels. It has 5.15 IPS LCD display with 1080p resolution and HDR video support. It has a dual LED flash as well.

The smartphone, however, retains the weird placement of the selfie camera at the bottom edge. On the front, it has a 5 Megapixel camera that supports face recognition and autofocus feature. The official Twitter handle of Mi India has teased the image of the Mi Mix 2, and mentioned that the device is coming soon to India. It arrives in 3 variants, either 64, 128, or 256GB of storage.

The Mi MIX 2 will be available in 6GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB and 6GB + 256GB versions, priced at RMB 3299 (Rs 32,350 approximately), RMB3599 (Rs 35,300 approx) and RMB 3999 (Rs 39,200 approx) respectively. That drive forced Xiaomi to make some interesting design decisions, such as forgoing a standard earpiece for a fancy piezoelectric version and moving the front camera down to the lower right of the phone's frame.

Powered by a Snapdragon 835 SoC clocked at a speed of 2.45GHz, the handset offers 6GB of RAM for the modular variant and 8GB RAM for the Special Edition. Xiaomi has launched a sequel to the Mi Mix. The other two variants' price follows.

The device is designed by French designer Philippe Starck which comes with metal chassis with the ceramic rear body adding more premium looks of the device. A while back, there used to be a clear differentiation between flagship and mid-range smartphones.

While Apple is set to once again disrupt the market by launching the much-awaited iPhone X, Xiaomi has brought the Mi Mix 2 in the midst of the anticipation for the new iPhone to take on the competition.

Availability outside of China for this device remains unknown. However, initially, the phone will be available to Asian and European countries and then it will be available to other nations.
