LG G6 gets another price cut, price drops to Rs 37,990 this time
LG G6 is now selling at a best buy price of Rs 37,990. The company has dropped the price of LG G6 by Rs 2000 from its previous price of Rs 39,990. The smartphone was launched at Rs 51,990 and has received several price cuts since its launch.
Despite its good specifications and dual camera set up, LG G6 has failed to meet the desired sales figure. The company, in the latest earning report of G6, said that there was a "weaker than expected premium smartphone sales and increase in component costs." This could be one of the reasons why the phone has seen so many price cuts so far. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 821 which is almost an year-old SoC , possibly the second bug reason for the phone's poor sales.
The new price of Rs 37,990 is applicable only for the Astro Black and the Mystic White colour variants of the G6. The Ice Platinum sells at the previous price of Rs 39,990. The discounted phone can be bought from both offline and online channels. For purchasing online, buyers need to visit Amazon India. The LG G6 was launched at Rs 51,990 and soon got a price cut of nearly Rs 10,000, lowering the price to Rs 41,999. However, this was a limited period offer. The phone at one point of time was also selling at Rs 38,990 for Amazon Prime subscribers, again for a limited time period.
About the specs, the LG G6 comes with a 5.7-inch FullVision display with 18:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1440x2880 pixels. The smartphone is powered by  Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC coupled with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The company initially launched just one storage variant of the phone with 64GB ROM but later added two more variants- LG G6 with 32GB internal storage and  LG G6+ which comes with 128GB of ROM. The storage is expandable up to 2TB via microSD card.
On the optics front, the LG G6 features a dual camera set up at the back. There are two 13MP sensors-one captures the wide-angle shots with 125-degree lens while the other takes normal photos with 71-degree lens. The phone sports a 5MP camera on the front. There's a non-removable 3300mAh battery that backs up the phone.
